I don't like driving my car, so I commute almost everywhere by bicycle. I ride to the grocery store, to work, to the movies, and just about anywhere within a reasonable radius. As such, I end up riding home in the dark quite a bit. So to keep myself visible to traffic, I have this "hot-shit" expensive lighting system on my bike. The headlamp puts out a ridiculous amount of white light. I often have other cars flash their brights on me - as if I am blinding them. My taillight is rated to be even brighter than what you would find on an automobile. Both of these wonders of technology are connected to a single battery strapped to my downtube.
This all worked fine until I lost the adapter that links the taillight to the battery. It fell off during a ride or was stolen by a magical gnome, I have no fucking clue. But it has been gone for a month. I emailed the company to have them send me another one. Much to my surprise a part showed up in the mail, however it was the wrong adapter. So I emailed again to get the correct part. Apparently that wasn't OK. I somehow made the "shit-list" at the bicycle lighting factory.
There seemed to be only one customer service agent at the company. She denied every request I had for the part, stating that I was I mistaken - or that they never made such a part. I doubt they were blocking my phone number, but whenever I called their tech-support, I was placed on hold until I gave in and hung up the receiver.
After a month with no bright blinky red taillight, I was about to give up, sell my light to some psycho on eBay and buy a new one that came with the adapter. But today my phone call to customer service went through. After I told the woman about my problem, she immediately recognized who I was. Before I could finish telling her what part I needed, she finished my sentence. This bitch was holding out on me, and now she had to come clean. She was asking me for my address, even though her fucking mailbox was filled with it. I asked her if she was really going to send out the part. "Yes." End of conversion, phone hung up.
So if my adapter doesn't show up within the next week...I'll...I'll...bend over and take it up the ass from the company. It sucks that they don't care, and there isn't shit I can do about it. But hey they make good lights and I didn't pay retail for mine. NiteRider Technical Lighting Systems.
