Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

What an epic turd. George Lucas's 6th endeavor into his Star Wars universe may have been his worst production yet. However you can't expect much when the writer/directory of a film is just an aging rich nerd, who has only written and directed a handful of films.

Here is my review in a few short, unrelated sentences.

Revenge of the Sith is a demo reel for Industrial Light and Magic. The light-saber battles were fantastic, but don't make a movie. This film suffered from "gotta tie it all together" and "gotta satisfy the detail geeks" syndrome. Good actors suck when given awful dialogue. When given 2 hours and 15 minutes to present a story revolving around the main character's switch from good to evil - don't make the transition happen like flipping a light switch because it is completely un-fucking believable!

Example

You're significant-other has a form of life threatening cancer, but I can offer you a cure. However, you need to do a couple things for me.

  1. Change your name and become a pawn under my ruling.

  2. Take this gun, go back to your old elementary school and murder every single teacher and defenseless student.

  3. Travel to the headquarters of the nation's largest bank and proceed to slaughter everyone inside as well.

Only after doing these things, can I offer you this "cure" (of which I have not offered a single bit of proof that it actually exists other than a very brief story about someone no-one has every heard of).

Really that is all I gotta do!? Well sign me up!

Yeah right.

He turned to the Dark Side because he thought he would be able to save Padme from death. It's really quite simple, very similar to a light switch.
